NORDIC BALL will be held following the rules of DDD (Danish Dance Teachers Association)
Proficiency Classifications
Which categories can I dance ?
New Coming Star • Bronze/Silver • Rekruttering/Talent:
D and C class, has danced a few tournaments.
Pay attention to which dances are being danced in the age group.
Rising Star • Gold/Star • Konkurrence:
B and A class, national level, danced several years.
Pay attention to which dances are being danced in the age group.
Open -Star • Champion/Super Star • Star:
S class, International level, you have competed several years in WDSF / WDC / WDO.
You dance all 5 or 10 dances.
All dancers may enter the proficiency level they are qualified to dance or higher levels, but NOT below their proficiency level.
Age Category Classifications
Juvenile U10 – under 10
(= 9 years or younger on the day of the competition )
Juvenile U12 – under 12
(= 11 years or younger on the day of the competition )
Junior U16 – under 16
(= 15 years or younger on the day of the competition)
Youth U19 – under 19
(= 18 years or younger on the day of the competition)
Youth U21 – under 21
(= 21 years or younger on the day of the competition)
Adult
(19+ yrs old on the day of the competition)
Senior 1
(35+ years old – older partner at least 35, younger partner must be at least 30 on the day of the competition)
Senior 2
(45+ years old – older partner at least 45, younger partner must be at least 40 on the day of the competition)
Senior 3
(55+ years old – older partner at least 55, younger partner must be at least 50 on the day of the competition)
Senior 4
(65+ years old – older partner at least 65, younger partner must be at least 60 on the day of the competition)
Competitor age is the same as a dancer’s actual age.
The age group for Juvenile, Junior, or Youth couple is determined solely by the competition age of the older partner.

Juvenile, Junior; U19 and U21 couples may dance in their age group and/or in any higher age group, but may NOT dance in a lower age group.
For Senior couples, the age group is determined by the competition age of the older partner, as long as the younger partner is within five years of the age limit. For example, for Senior 2, which is 45+, the older partner’s competition age must be at least 45, and the younger partner’s competition age must be at least 40.
Adults/Seniors may dance in their age group and/or in any lower Adult/Senior age group, but may NOT dance in a higher age group. They may dance in as many age groups as they wish, and the age groups do not need to be consecutive. So that a couple may dance in Senior III, Senior II and Adult.
